Paul Larsen scored a game-high 21 points Thursday night as Lake Norman bounced back from just its second loss of the season with a 71-66 win over West Charlotte.
The Wildcats had four players reach double figures a night after losing 66-63 to top-ranked and I-Meck 4A Conference leader Hopewell.

North boys win again
#8 1A North Rowan
North Rowan's boys basketball team maintained its hold on first place in the YVC with a 72-54 victory at East Montgomery on Friday.
East Montgomery (11-7, 9-3) entered the night one game behind the Cavaliers as the league's third-place team.
Javon Hargrave led North (15-4, 11-1) with 16 points and six rebounds. Oshon West had 15 points, and freshman Malik Ford contributed 11 points.

The Kinston coach has had several opportunities this year to motivate his team after slow starts. And just like it has all year, the motivation worked like a charm Saturday night as the Vikings overcame a six-point halftime deficit to beat South Lenoir 73-57.

West Caldwell's varsity boys basketball team won its 10th consecutive game Thursday afternoon, breaking away from visiting East Burke for a 66-47 victory in Gamewell.
Kendall Jones scored 16 points to lead two other players in double figures for the Warriors (16-2, 11-0 Catawba Valley 2A), who outscored the Cavaliers 40-26 over the second and third quarters to take command of the game.
