I will say this, how many times has Kannapolis gone 16-0, won 30 strait games, or won back to back state titles!

Now of corse I am sure its only because we didn't play yall folks, but at least we will always have our one fluke win over yall. LOL

We would be happy to play the Falcons as a non-conference game. I have heard Coach Massey say that he would love to play the Rowan schools as non-conference games, but that most of the Rowan schools always had other commitments.

I'm pretty sure he would swap the Thomasville or Kings Mtn. games to match up with some Rowan schools. A lot less travel and more of a rivalry which translates into more money.

I don't know how we would have fared against you guys the last couple of seasons, but it would have been fun to find out

West needs to drop NW Cabarrus and pick up the Wonders.

West had the better team last year, but I would have liked our chances 2 years ago when we lost to Dudley, and I believe I'd like our chances this year.

Winsel, you know I have given West Rowan all the credit in the world for the past 2 years,,, but despite all the 30-0 records and all the championships, Coach Young will never get his full props until he faces his main nemesis who resides only 20 minutes down the road.

I can live with that fact. Thing is we all would love to play the game but making it happen is a whole different thing. Personally I would love for West to drop Central and Northwest and pick up you guys and Thomasville. Although in doing that I think they would have the toughest non-conference schedule around.

You do have to say though Young is well on his way to being the best coach that Rowan County has ever had. Not only because of the wins but also the consistency that he has brought to West over his tenure. Heck he even has that one victory over you guys.

As for West and any 7 on 7's, I haven't heard a thing but rumor has it they have been terrible in them

For those who don't know the record, it's 14-1 Kannapolis over West Rowan, with that one win very disputed!

Let's forget about what might have happened and focus on what happened, and the record on the field stands!

You might be the best team in Rowan County, but you have a long way to go to equal the WONDER'S record over West.

I can see why you avoid us! But to be the best, you have to play the best, and West's overall record is no match for the WONDER's overall record. We have been very good for a long, long time.

We didn't just arrive on the scene recently.

I hope not I can't wait to see what jarvis morgan an the guys do on offfense now that there star tailback is gone. I expect there defense should carry this team for most of the season but I think the win streak ends this year but I can see them making another state title run.

Can't argue with anything most anything you said there.

I wouldn't say though that West has avoided Kannapolis though. Its more of just have been able to work it out in the schedule.

I for one would never put West program in the same sentence as Kannapolis as they aren't even close. I have said over the past few years that as far as I am concerned that I hope in 30 years I can look back and say the same about West program that Kannapolis does right now.

You folks in Kannapolis are the gold standard as far as I am concerned when it comes to football.

Regardless of the overall record, you guys have done some kind of job the last couple of seasons. You do have my utmost reprect for that. Not too many teams have been able to do what the Falcons have done the last two seasons.

That is why I would love to play you guys again. I love great competition!

K63, Winsel is a class act. In fact, I haven't talked to hardly anyone from West Rowan who has said they are better than Kannapolis at anytime since the last time we played each other in 2005. I work with a lot of West folks, and its always been "KP is good, we are good",,, but they've always given Kannapolis our props for our overall record against them.

I don't think either coach is dodging the other, I mean it wouldn't make sense for Massey to dodge West when Massey is 5-1 against West and we've spent the last 5 years driving down to nowhere at the end of Hwy 601, I think Massey would've loved a good gate game only 20 minutes away. And I don't know Young, he's built West into a fine "program",,, I'm just saying I think its up to "him" that if he wants to get that green monkey off his back, he's got to beat us. He needs us on his schedule to solidify himself as a great coach, otherwise he'll only be known as great in Rowan County.

Bottomline, this game needs to get on the schedule, it would be good money for both programs, and clearly these are the top programs in these 2 counties.

Any West Rowan fan that wants to try to talk smack to Kannapolis is insane in my book. You folks are 14-1 against us all time for a reason. I might throw a jab or too out at times but thats only because of the past few years. I have said many times to people if someone would have told me 10 years ago that we would have won 2 state championships I would have then that they were nuts.

I can't agree more that they need to work it out to play and make it a regular happening. I am sure its easier said than done as both schools have to have an opening at the same time, but I can think of two schools West could drop and a couple Kannapolis could too. I don't know what is at fault for it not being played, but I do doubt its because either side has avoided the other, because you are correct in that in would be a huge money game for the schools.

Well I understand us always keeping South Rowan as one nonconference game, I mean theyre 10 minutes away.

But with all respect to Thomasville, Kings Mountain and Statesville,,, (if it were up to me) I'd slide West Rowan into one of those 3 weeks, because it would be less travel and much bigger gates.

I would love to see the Falcons and the Wonders play every year. Good competition breeds great teams. Plus that would be a good financial windfall for both schools. Get the AD`S together and lets get this deal done. West has no business playing Central Cabarrus. And I know KTown would rather play in Mt. Ulla than in Thomasville...

I hope not, because Matt is a game-changer, and has a lot of speed, but time will tell. I have not had a chance to get up to Olin to watch them practice yet, but I hope he is still wearing red, black, blue & white. If not, oh well, his loss.

The real story of the season is Jacob Queen, the sophomore qb. He is young and has a lot to learn, but he has the potential to be really good.
