CarolinaPreps.com is a multifaceted website that provides news coverage and social interaction of scholastic sports in the Carolinas. The vision of Carolina Preps is to be the Carolina’s premier source of high school news and to promote the student-athletes through journalistic excellence and interactive team pages.

The roots of CarolinaPreps.com date back to 2001 with the launch of one of the first high school sports websites in North Carolina, NCHSFootball.com.

The original Carolina Preps website opened in 2007 by Chris Hughes and quickly gained momentum and popularity. In 2008 Hughes partnered with Omar Pharr of OP Enterprises, a sports marketing firm to expand the business and move the site to a new level.

The website saw significant growth from 2008 through 2010 and grew to over 16 million page views for 2010.

CarolinaPreps.com partnered with NCPrepReport.com and Scout.com in the spring of 2011 creating a partnership with well known recruiting writer Don Callahan. Callahan, one of the original pioneers of high school football website boom of the late 1990’s designed and created NCHSFootball.com.

Carolina Preps has now acquired NCPrepReport.com and moved back to being an independent source of high school sports news.

CarolinaPreps.com is fully accredited by the NCHSAA and has working relationships and partnerships with several media outlets across North Carolina.
