Basketball analyst Justin Byerly scopes the state with the latest recruiting news on the hardwood.
Reggie Dillard, the 6-foot-4 small forward (2013) out of Greensboro Day committed to Presbyterian College last night over UNC-Asheville & UNC-Wilmington.
The athletic and strong bodied Dillard played with the CP3 All-Stars based out of Winston-Salem over the summer and is the third senior from Greensboro Day to commit or sign in the 2013 class, joining Reed Lucas (Army) and Christian Hairston (Furman University).
Tennessee and Wake Forest University was in attendance this weekend at the Charlotte Hoops Challenge to see 6-foot-3 point guard (2014) Shelton Mitchell of Waxhaw Cuthbertson. The left-handed point guard currently has nine Division-I offers to date.
Andrew Wiggins, the top-ranked player by ESPN in the Class of 2013 out of Huntington Prep (WV) was the feature player at The Charlotte Hoops Challenge this weekend and he didn't disappoint. A freakish athlete, he had the crowd going with his high-flying, above the rim dunks. Florida State University Head Coach Leonard Hamilton was in to see him during the event.
Charlotte Berry senior Cazmon Hayes, a Delaware commit, scored 42 points on Saturday at The Charlotte Hoops Challenge in a win over Peachtree Ridge (GA).
