A year after accepting the job, head coach Chris Davidson has stepped down at North Iredell.

Wow! Have you heard any rumors who will replace him?

Honestly, from everything I'm hearing from coaches "In the know", I wouldn't be in any hurry to apply there.

Yes the went 2-9 in 2011 I'm talking about 2012 if they don't get a coach who can turn things around quick!

Interesitng that the paper would run an article just to state that North Stokes head coach Jason Lippard wasn't a candidate this year. I know this is just high school football but an aritcle like that kind of reminds me of the coverage Nick Saban received while he was the head coach at Miami when the Alabama job came open.
I will say this though, North Iredell would be damn lucky to get Lippard. I've got to know him over the past year and he's a tremendous football coach. Spaking with South Iredell head coach Scott Miller at this past weekend's Shrine Bowl Combine, Miller said he knew Lippard was bound for greatness and would be a successful head coach from the moment he worked for him at South. |

The job a North would be a challenge. Every other school in Iredell County has been rolling of late except maybe Lake Norman. I've seem them the last few years and they have had small numbers but not without some talent. The school has made some big strides the last number of years with their football facilities. The new fieldhouse, new pressbox, etc have made the atmosphere much better. Good Luck to them in finding the right fit.

Hopefully the decision-makers up there realize that it would take Lombardi or Bear Bryant a few years to turn that program around. They need to give the new coach at least 4 years to show improvement. Right now, .500 would be like a playoff berth at most other programs.
Having North as a competitive force in this county is better for everyone involved. |
