Let's get started on this one. First of all, I'm looking forward to Saturday. I will be catching Butler/Jack Britt in the morning. After that game, will probably head for some wine tasting followed by an early dinner. Then, will go and see Catholic and Northern Guilford for the nightcap.
This game is going to be a tough one for Catholic. Guilford will be the toughest opponent they have faced this season. It should be a good game featuring two of the best backs in the state. It will be interesting to see how Catholic can move the ball against Guilford's defense. |

Should be an excellent game. Looking forward to it. Logan and Hood on the same field could be special. Master of the obvious statement-- turnovers will be key. Neither team is known to pass much. Seems they do it just in order to keep opposing defenses honest.
As a side note, after looking at the rosters I think NG lists their players smaller than they actually are. They aren't big but some are definitely bigger than listed. |

I believe that if Catholic can use their size advantage on the O line vs ND's D line they can 4 yard them all game long should CC get a lead....the key will be each defense and how they improve...for Catholic forcing a punt or not allowing NG to score on their 1st possession of the game and 1st possession of the 2nd half will be huge!!

Couldn't ask for a better match up for States.
TJ is without a doubt the best player on the field but might not be the best RB on the field but he is certainly faster. He can throw the ball, plus he is an excellent receiver to boot. He can play D as well. Can return punts and kickoffs. With his speed and power he is a threat to score from anywhere on the field at any time. Most dangerous player in the state. You cannot prepare for this even though every team tries. Page held him under a 100 but that was early in season. Never seen Hood play but if he is half as good as advertised it will be tough to contain him. Probably a 200 yard plus night for him. I'm predicting Hood will get 3 TDs but TJ will end up with 4 and NG wins by a TD. Should be a great game. Wish it was televised. |

Conner, you have been telling me that Logan is the best RB in the state, whenever I have stated the same about Hood. I admit I've never seen Logan, so I'm glad you'll be able to make the game. I wish I could be there but family matters come first this weekend. Please give me your honest assessment of Hood afterwards.
Btw, I'm certainly not doubting Logan at all, but comments about Logan's playing D reminds me,,,,,,,, only ever now and then, CC will put Hood in at LB. Not surprisingly, he's actually pretty damn good there too, he's just a young physical talent. Keep in mind, this kids' only a junior. Seriously guys, I want an honest report how these 2 RBs stack up. From most accounts, theres no doubt these are the best 2 in the state. Let me know, and have fun. Last thing, I told Footsoldier last week up in Statesville that NG may be the favorite this year vs Catholic,,,,,,, but (like I told him) CC sure is clicking on all cylinders at the right time of year. In one game, dont let nothing surprise you. Should be a great game. Last edited by 1derpop; 11-27-2012 at 07:52 PM. |

Really looking forward to this one saturday. I've always been kind of an "air it out" guy but who could ask for a better running back matchup in a state championship game.

1derpop,
No worries. I haven't seen Hood and don't doubt him either. I'll let u know what I think. The 2 of them on the same field is a big reason I plan on being there. No real rooting interest. |

Thanks Conner.
Btw (not that this means anything whatsoever) but 5 locals have been predicting the winners each week in the Charlotte Observer all season, and I thought it was interesting to see in today's paper that 4 of the 5 are actually picking Catholic to upset N.Guilford. And before you think theres some "homer" thinking going on,,,,,, 4 of them picked another local team Concord to lose. Now I can't explain why 4/5 are picking CC to beat NG, because I know everyone respects AND KNOWS just how good Northern Guilford is. At the same time folk in these parts have seen this Catholic team completely dismantle some very good playoff teams in recent weeks. And typically Catholic just dont beat themselves. Anything can (and usually does) happen, hope the weather is great, and GUYS KEEP ME INFORMED. Will be checking for scores as much as possible. Thanks.
