Spring Tour: Diamont & East Surry once again among 1A favorites

PILOT MOUNTIAN - Very few head coaches in North Carolina have earned the level of respect that David Diamont has, for nearly half a century he's been roaming the sidelines and helping mold young boys into men in Surry County.  He began his head coaching career in 1977 at East Surry and continues to lead the Cardinals program today.
He stepped away for six years in the late 1980's to lead the Mount Airy program, but otherwise he's become an institution in Pilot Mountain and the region.  His 282 victories puts him fifth among active coaches in our state and over the past four seasons, his Cardinals have posted an impressive 43-10 record.
Listen in to what he had to say yesterday as I visited him while on the CarolinaPreps.com Spring Football Tour.
